Tiny dolls and 1/144 scale figures
4.1K.  The simplest of dolls, 1/4 inch high, which can be adapted to  look like a kewpie. I've reworked the instructions into a detailed booklet which explains the  techniques carefully.  The actual kit consists of two toothpicks.  The basic doll is easy to do, though some skill (or luck) may be needed to get a kewpie look.  $3.
2K.  The kit for these wooden dolls is only a dowel and some toothpicks, but it also includes a detailed illustrated instruction booklet which will guide you in the safe and efficient use of knives to make tiny things.  The dolls are 3/8' to 1 inch high $5.

Kits 1
These little people, inspired by the Borrowers stories, are the most difficult to make, but with a little patience you can produce a houseful quite quickly.  The kit (for the three members of the Clock family) is $15 for the three, and includes detailed instructions.
